Barren, rough, rugged, and bizarre, this solitary scenery is nothing but the most extreme point of northwest Sardinia. The dark and often tumultuous sea finds its sole protagonist in “Il Maestrale.” We are at “mare di fuori” (the outer sea), having just passed Capo Falcone, leaving behind one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. The rugged coastline, with its peculiar appearance commonly known as “pietra di Stintino,” is often used in the cladding of local villas. With cliffs reaching heights of nearly 150 meters, this coastal area is known as the Valley of the Moon. Continuing among the dozens of small coves and marveling at the landscape, we reach the little beach of Punta su Turrione. After a revitalizing lunch break, we’ll return.
